What is an RCD?
An RCD, or Residual Current Device, is a protective device that limits the amount of current that can flow through in a fault condition to below the level that can seriously hurt the average person.
Why is RCD testing important?
RCDs must be tested by law to ensure they are in safe working order, so that in the event of a fault they are ready to save lives. Unserviced equipment can seize up or just go unnoticed for years. Many insurance companies or lease agreements require regular testing to be carried out to comply with the terms and agreements.
